Winter Weather Crash Claims Life of 33-Year-Old Dylan Heath Griffin in Dyer County

DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal highway crash that claimed the life of 33-year-old Dylan Heath Griffin during the early morning hours of January 24.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on Fort Hudson Road near Highway 211 in Dyersburg. When first responders arrived at the scene, they located a male driver who had sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities stated that winter weather conditions were a contributing factor in the crash. Icy or hazardous roadway conditions are believed to have played a role in the vehicle leaving the roadway, though the investigation remains ongoing.

The victim was later identified as Dylan Heath Griffin, age 33. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. At this time, no additional details regarding the sequence of events leading up to the crash have been released.
