MACON, Ga. — UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified Zay’vion Ni Seah Dajour Jackson, 18, of Macon, as the suspect arrested in connection with the fatal Friday night shooting that claimed the life of Dantwan Wynes, 19, on Hardwick Drive.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred during a reported shootout Friday night on the 400 block of Hardwick Drive. Investigators say Wynes suffered fatal gunshot wounds during the exchange and was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
Violent Crime Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office worked through the night to identify those involved in the incident. Authorities confirmed that Zay’vion Jackson was later identified as a suspect in the case. Investigators stated that Jackson was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Headquarters by family members.
Following further investigation and interviews, Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where he was formally charged. Officials confirmed that Zay’vion Ni Seah Dajour Jackson now faces multiple serious charges, including Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery, three counts of Aggravated Assault, and Felony Murder. He is currently being held without bond.
Sheriff’s officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities noted that additional charges may be forthcoming as detectives continue to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and analyze forensic information related to the shooting.
The fatal incident has shaken the Hardwick Drive neighborhood and the wider Macon community, adding to growing concerns about gun violence involving young individuals. Friends and family of Dantwan Wynes have begun mourning his loss, remembering him as a young man whose life was cut tragically short.
