BRADENTON, Fla. — The Bradenton Police Department has arrested Keith Roberts Jr., 29, in connection with a deadly shooting at a medical and office complex that claimed the life of Myshaela Burnham, 29, and left an unidentified office employee seriously injured Thursday afternoon in the 5200 block of 4th Avenue Circle East.

According to investigators, the incident unfolded at approximately 12:48 p.m. when police were dispatched to reports of shots fired inside a suite of offices located within the complex. Detectives say Roberts entered the office suite and confronted Burnham, his former girlfriend, before opening fire. Burnham suffered fatal injuries at the scene. An office employee who witnessed the incident was also targeted and sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she remains hospitalized. Her identity has not been released.

The office where the incident occurred was later identified as a laboratory processing facility. Witnesses inside and around the building provided crucial information to authorities, including descriptions of a vehicle seen leaving the scene shortly after the incident. Multiple 911 callers reported the vehicle’s direction of travel, allowing police to act quickly.

Bradenton Police determined the suspect vehicle was traveling toward the DeSoto Bridge. With assistance from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the Palmetto Police Department, and the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit, officers tracked the vehicle into Palmetto, where it was stopped at 1:12 p.m. The driver, identified as Keith Roberts Jr., was taken into custody without incident—less than 25 minutes after the initial call.

Roberts was transported to the Bradenton Police Department for questioning, where he agreed to be interviewed by homicide investigators. He was formally arrested shortly before 6:00 p.m. and is now facing charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.

Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) and homicide detectives remained on scene for several hours processing evidence and conducting interviews. Authorities confirmed this remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The tragic loss of Myshaela Burnham has deeply impacted loved ones and the community, while prayers and well wishes continue for the injured employee as she recovers. Law enforcement officials emphasized the swift cooperation between agencies and the public, which played a key role in the rapid apprehension of the suspect.

Anyone with additional information related to this case is urged to contact the Bradenton Police Department as the investigation continues.
