Man Arrested for Murder in Greenville County Domestic Shooting That Killed 23-Year-Old Trycina Whitehurst

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — A man is in custody and facing murder charges following a deadly domestic-related shooting that claimed the life of 23-year-old Trycina Whitehurst, with authorities identifying 33-year-old Devortae Marquez Durham as the suspect in the case, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded earlier this morning to a reported attack and shooting at a residence located at 701 West Parker Road. Upon arrival, investigators discovered Trycina Whitehurst suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene, marking a tragic end to a young life and sending shockwaves through the surrounding community.

Through an extensive and coordinated investigation, members of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office FASIT Team were able to quickly identify and locate the suspect.
