According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 12:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Tangora Lane. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Tykese suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving family, friends, and loved ones devastated by the sudden and violent loss.
Police also located another adult male at the scene who had been struck by gunfire. That individual was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive, as his injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators have stated that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between individuals who were known to each other, adding another layer of sorrow to an already painful tragedy. While authorities continue to work diligently to piece together the events that led to the shooting, the investigation remains ongoing.
