JONESBORO, Ark. — Family, friends, and the trucking community are mourning the loss of Robert Furches, a 71-year-old truck driver from Millington, Tennessee, who was killed in a tragic crash Wednesday morning in Jonesboro.

According to Arkansas State Police, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:55 a.m. on January 14 at the intersection of CW Post Road and Moore Road. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly before 11 a.m., where they found a devastating crash involving two commercial vehicles.

Preliminary information from the fatal crash report indicates that Robert Furches was traveling eastbound on CW Post Road, operating a 2023 Freightliner, when it collided with a southbound 2020 Volvo driven by Dinh Linh Hong, 55, of Morrow, Georgia. Despite life-saving efforts, Furches succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities with Arkansas State Police and the Jonesboro Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine contributing factors. At this time, no additional details regarding the cause have been released.
