GREECE, N.Y. — Hearts across the community are heavy as another life has been lost following a tragic crash on West Ridge Road earlier this month. Authorities have confirmed that Riesen Kimmerly, 25, of Hamlin, has passed away from injuries she suffered in the January 17 crash, making her the third person to die as a result of this devastating incident.
According to Greece Police, the crash occurred around 1 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Craig Cavallaro, 42, of Parma, was traveling westbound and struck Riesen’s vehicle, which was stopped at a red light at Elmgrove Road. Cavallaro was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Riesen Kimmerly and her passenger, Tyler Underwood, 28, of Hamlin, were both transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Days later, police confirmed that Tyler tragically succumbed to his injuries. Now, with the passing of Riesen, the crash has claimed three lives, leaving families and loved ones facing unimaginable grief.
Riesen was more than a victim of a tragic accident—she was a daughter, a friend, and a young woman with a future full of hope and promise. At just 25 years old, she had so much life ahead of her. Her presence, her kindness, and the love she shared with those around her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
The loss of Riesen, alongside Tyler Underwood and Craig Cavallaro, has deeply impacted the community. Three lives, each with their own stories, dreams, and loved ones, were forever changed in a single moment. As the investigation continues and details remain limited, families are left to mourn and to search for comfort in one another and in the memories they hold dear.
We ask for continued prayers, strength, and compassion for all families affected by this tragic crash. May they find peace in the support of their community and solace in knowing their loved ones will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Riesen Kimmerly. Your life mattered, your memory will live on, and your light will never fade.
