WALDORF, Md. — The Charles County community mourns the tragic loss of Glen Jermain Baker, 43, of Waldorf, who passed away on the evening of January 26 after a hit-and-run incident on St. Charles Parkway.
At approximately 6:28 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to reports of a body in the roadway near Gallery Place. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Baker, who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. Despite emergency responders’ efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Mr. Baker was crossing the southbound lanes of St. Charles Parkway when he was struck. The driver responsible did not stop and fled the scene, leaving the community in shock and grief.
The vehicle involved is believed to be a dark blue Buick Regal, model years 1997–2005, missing a passenger side mirror. The Charles County Police Department’s Traffic Operations Unit is actively investigating the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward.
