MONROE, GA — The Monroe Police Department continues to investigate a deadly shooting that occurred in the 100 block of GW Carver Drive on Sunday, January 25, 2026, an incident that claimed the life of Teonia Stokes, left Curdarious Williams injured, and has now led authorities to seek the arrest of Dorreous Brooks.

According to investigators, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the residential area and discovered two victims at the scene. Teonia Stokes was pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries, while Curdarious Williams was transported for medical treatment.
