With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Israel Castrejon Trejo, a young man whose life was tragically taken far too soon. Israel, just 27 years old, was a resident of Nampa, Idaho, and his passing has left family, friends, and the wider community grieving an unimaginable loss.

According to authorities, Israel lost his life following a shooting that occurred on Sunday, January 25, 2026, near 195 E. Central Avenue in Meridian, close to a McDonald’s restaurant. Meridian Police Department reported that multiple 911 calls came in at approximately 12:39 p.m., alerting dispatchers to the violent altercation. Israel suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the incident and, despite lifesaving efforts, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Ada County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his official time of death as 4:38 p.m.

Jacob Streat, 23, has since been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Israel’s death, with bond set at $2 million. While the legal process moves forward, nothing can undo the pain felt by those who loved Israel and are now left to navigate life without him.

Israel was more than the tragic circumstances surrounding his death. He was a son, a loved one, a friend, and a presence that mattered. Those who knew him remember him as someone whose life, though cut short, carried meaning and impact. His smile, his voice, his energy, and the memories he shared will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

As the community mourns, we ask for continued prayers, strength, and compassion for Israel’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May they find comfort in one another, in shared memories, and in the outpouring of support surrounding them.

Though his time on this earth was brief, Israel Castrejon Trejo will never be forgotten. His life mattered, his memory endures, and his name will continue to be spoken with love and remembrance.

Rest in peace, Israel. You are deeply loved, dearly missed, and forever remembered.
