According to a press release issued by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal collision occurred on Saturday evening, January 24, 2026, at approximately 9:24 p.m., near the intersection of West County 14th Street and South Avenue B. Deputies responded to reports of a vehicle versus motorcycle crash in the area and immediately began their investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that Abraham was operating a 2014 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, traveling northbound on Avenue B, when the motorcycle collided with the rear of a 2014 Honda CR-V that was ahead of him. The impact caused Abraham to be ejected onto the roadway, resulting in severe injuries.
Rural Metro Fire personnel responded swiftly, and both drivers were transported to Onvida Health for medical treatment. The driver of the Honda CR-V sustained only minor injuries. Tragically, despite lifesaving efforts by first responders and medical staff, Abraham was transported in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.
Abraham was more than the circumstances of his passing. He was a son, a loved one, a friend, and a cherished member of his community.
