HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) — James Culver, 73, was tragically killed in a shooting Wednesday morning in Henderson, according to the Henderson Police Department, with authorities announcing the arrest of 20-year-old Harold Farmer in connection with his death. Officers responded to a home in the 1100 block of Powell Street, near the intersection of Julia and Powell Streets, where Culver was found suffering from gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police stated that the incident appeared to be domestic-related. Harold Farmer was taken into custody and arrested on a charge of murder as investigators worked to piece together the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. While family members at the scene told 14 News that the dispute began between a grandfather and grandson, officials have not confirmed the nature of the relationship or the events leading up to the shooting.
Authorities also reported that four other family members were inside the home at the time of the incident. Fortunately, they were not physically harmed and were transported to the police station to be interviewed as investigators sought clarity on what led to the deadly encounter.
